What Sustainability Looks Like at The Rowing Pavilion

At The Rowing Pavilion, we know that sustainability isn’t a buzzword, it’s a responsibility. Nestled right on the banks of the beautiful Canning River, we’re reminded daily just how important it is to take care of the place we call home. That’s why we’re committed to doing things better, every single day.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about progress.

From the way we brew your morning coffee to how we wrap up events on the deck, our team is constantly choosing better-not just for you, but for the environment.

Here’s what sustainability looks like at The Pav:

Your Coffee, Consciously Served

We proudly partner with Ecobrista to bring you takeaway cups that don’t cost the earth. They’re compostable, recyclable and designed with purpose, so your morning brew does good while tasting even better.

Plastic Free Champions (Officially!)

We’ve joined the Plastic Free Places Program and are a certified Plastic Free Champion. That means we’ve waved goodbye to single-use plastics where we can, swapping out the unnecessary for the sustainable, think cans over plastic bottles, reusable or compostable packaging, and no sneaky plastic straws in sight.

No Balloons, No Worries

While balloons might look festive, they’re not kind to the environment, or our riverside neighbours like local birds and marine life. That’s why we’ve made the decision to be a balloon-free venue. Trust us, our celebrations are still just as beautiful (and way more thoughtful).

Better Choices, Big Impact

From where we source our produce to the packaging behind the bar, we’re constantly reviewing how we can tread a little lighter. It’s the little things: using seasonal ingredients, working with local suppliers, minimising waste, and staying conscious of our footprint. Every decision counts.

We don’t pretend to be perfect. But we do promise this: we’ll keep showing up. We’ll keep choosing better. And we’ll always look for ways to protect this patch of riverfront we’re lucky to share with all of you.

Because at the end of the day, sustainability is #bettershared too.
